“Day of the Lion” is a multi-award winning horror-comedy screenplay written by Rob Holmes.
Log Line: Just weeks after the end of the COVID-19 shutdown, mutated sea lions try to take back the earth. Initially dismissed as rogue mountain lion attacks by authorities, it's up to a private eye, his scientist wife, and a one-legged Vietnam vet to stop them.
As you may be able to tell from the visual homage to George Romero in the poster, it's a fun romp and a clear throwback to when horror was actually cool.
“Day of the Lion” reads like “Clerks” meets “Rambo”. There is a lot of one-on-one dialogue, and plenty of kicking ass to go around.
Just like my main character, I've been a private eye my whole life.
You would be delighted with the potential sequels and spin-offs I have already written but, if I told you, I'd have to kill you.
