Warner Bros Cast Jim Carrey as Mark Zuckerberg and Didn’t Even Know It

With all of the news stories being published in recent days about social media data and privacy, I cannot help but be reminded of a not-so-great, yet brilliantly prophetic, film of the 1990’s. Let me first set the table. I was twenty-four years old and had just moved to Los Angeles to become a stand-up comedian. Months earlier, when I was a busboy at a Jersey Shore bar, I was constantly barraged by drunks shouting “Fire Marshall Bill!” This was due to my uncanny resemblance to Jim Carrey, referencing his recurring character in the critically-acclaimed sketch comedy show of the time “In Living Color“. Brand Protection and Social Media

In the era of telecommuting and coffee shop branch offices, Facebook has replaced the watercooler, LinkedIn is the new resume and Skype is the new boardroom. Let’s face it. Holmes is not only a top brand protection investigator. He is also the one-man marketing department for his firm. Socialize This Site!

With the advent of universal social applications such as Google Friend Connect, Facebook Connect, OpenID, etc., we have seen more websites in the last year or so become part of a large community some call the Social Web.  I know many of my readers are from all over the world and already on one social network or another.  Most people have a Google account.

So I decided to add Google Friend Connect functionality to Knockoff Report.  What does it mean to you?  It will not affect the static content of the site, but it will give you the ability to claim yourself as someone giving me moral support (best reason) and also to give you the ability to comment on posts more easily.  Click it.  You know you want to.
